It is truly and literally the small things that make my little world go around. Growing a garden, especially from seed, has been the simplest form of healing and a heart escape over the last few months. Please meet my very first pea! I grew this bitty guy with Kansas sunshine, love and a lot of help from my aunt robin. Blog family, meet Peater:)
A little pea with a big story…
Gardening is dirt therapy for my aunt robin and I grew up romping around in Michigan soil and watching her spirit soar with every plunge of the shovel. After my sweet grandma passed in March, aunt robin took a “healing tour” {three week vacation} that thankfully ended with a stop in my back yard. Gram was the pillar of strength and sassy in our family {even at 90lbs} and the void in our hearts was and still is rather gigantic. {That is all I can mention for the sake of continuing without a keyboard soaked in tears and sweet thoughts}
On a sunny, spring Kansas day, with fancy new work gloves and mending hearts we planted and laughed {two very wonderful and effortless gifts we worship}. It was a day I will cherish for all my life. On that day this little seed was planted. The very first of my love crop and I did it all with my pea in a pod, my sweet aunt robin. Great memories come in tiny packages {& pods}.
Soak in the small things and have the best day ever sweet peas.
